News 2 Gives Back was in Cheatham County today to deliver lunch to the Ashland City Police Department. We wanted to say ‘thank you’ for all the hard work they put in every day.
Each week News 2 partners with Nissan of Cool Springs to deliver lunch to the men and women that make our communities safer.
We were greeted by Chief of Police Marc Coulon who has worked in law enforcement for 48 years.
News 2’s Jerry Barlar spoke with Chief Coulon about his journey from Paris, France to Ashland City in the 1960s. He joined the United States Army in North Dakota and eventually ended up at Fort Campbell.
When his time with the Army was over, Coulon began his career in law enforcement. He’s been the Police Chief in Ashland City since 2006.
Coulon spoke highly of the Ashland City community and their low crime rate. He did, however, mention a specific issue the department has been dealing with.
He said the department routinely investigates shoplifting incidents at the local Walmart. Chief Coulon said he wants criminals to know that if you commit a crime in his town that they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Chief Coulon also talked about his entire department and the good work they do. He said he was very proud of all his officers and his front office staff and they work they do each day.
