Digital Director
Sebastian Posey is the Digital Director for WKRN News 2 and WKRN.com in Nashville, Tenn. The award-winning digital media manager has called Music City home since July 2019.
Sebastian was born in Birmingham, Ala. He attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he got his degree in Telecommunication & Film with a minor in Business.
He began his professional broadcast/digital journalism career back in his hometown of Birmingham at the Nexstar-owned WIAT CBS 42. Sebastian would go on to lead the station’s digital team and help CBS42.com achieve record traffic growth during his time.
Sebastian then served as the digital team lead at WBRC FOX 6 in Birmingham. He helped launch the station’s podcast network, which featured Behind the Front, a weather/science podcast that would go on to win the Alabama Broadcasters Association’s Best in Broadcasting – Podcast Award in 2019.
During his career, Sebastian covered historic flooding in South Carolina in 2015 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016 – coordinating digital coverage from the field for both weather events.
When not working, Sebastian enjoys cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, reading, and performing improv comedy.
