Eric has crisscrossed the country from Texas to New York and from the Atlantic to the Rockies. He comes to Nashville from Denver where he anchored and reported at the city’s NBC affiliate.
He grew up in the Midwest, in Toledo, Ohio, and studied journalism at The Ohio State University. His first job in broadcasting took him 1,000 miles south. For the next 10 years, he chased severe weather in Texas and politicians in the capital of New York.
Eric has also followed hurricanes along the east coast and covered cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. His love for sports even led him to the sidelines where he reported from events like Monday Night Football, in Dallas, and the 2012 PGA Championship.
Most recently, Eric was on the front lines of the catastrophic floods that overtook Colorado in September of 2013. He spent 10 days behind the lines working with local and federal officials, but the personal stories he found, of loss and survival, are some of the most memorable of his career.
Eric and his wife live in Nashville, though they met in Charleston, South Carolina, at the airport. The story behind that one is worth asking. If you happen to meet Eric, he’ll be happy to share.
Away from the job Eric has been involved in teen mentoring. He’s a dedicated sports fan and loves to golf. He also has a passion for studying history and knows a few chords on his acoustic guitar.
