Sports Anchor/Reporter
Emily Proud is a sports anchor and reporter for WKRN News 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. She’s been with News 2 since October 2018.
Before arriving in Nashville, she was a reporter/anchor for WATE in Knoxville, Tennessee, covering all things Vols.
Two weeks into the job, Proud covered the death of legendary women’s basketball pioneer and coach Pat Summitt. She struggled with the balance of listening to and telling the incredible stories of Summitt while mourning the death of a legend and someone she herself is inspired by.
She will also never forget covering the whirlwind that was Tennessee’s head football coaching search.
Proud completed her degree at Belmont University just down the road.
There, she was a four-year letter winner on the soccer team and was named an OVC Top 20 Preseason Player to watch her senior year. Also, while in college, she served as a sports intern for WKRN. She is so happy to be back at News 2 covering the exciting Nashville sports scene.
