CB Cotton joined WKRN as a multimedia journalist during the summer of 2018. She comes to Nashville after spending two years in her hometown as the Jacksonville Bureau Chief for Eastern North Carolina’s NBC affiliate, WITN.
During her time at WITN, she covered the preparation and aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
CB also covered the extensive search and recovery efforts for three-year-old Mariah Woods, which made national headlines. She is a graduate of the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
CB is also honored to have been a part of the Hearst collegiate journalism program – where she placed first in the preliminary round of competition and was later named the 2016 Hearst Television News Champion.
CB shoots, writes and edits all of her own stories.
She loves the storytelling process and is excited to be a part of the growing and fast-paced communities that comprise Middle Tennessee.
Outside of work, CB loves to play the guitar, exercise and cheer on the Tar Heels! She is thrilled to be in a community where music is a central part of living.
As a North Carolina native, CB feels incredibly blessed to call the Volunteer State her new home. With a passion to tell the stories of Middle Tennessee, she hopes the community will reach out to her.
