Hickory Hollow Mall is losing one of its largest anchor stores.
Dillard's announced that the department store will be closing at the end of the summer.
"Well, we're just going to run out of places to go," said Evelyn Mason.
First, JC Penney's announced its departure, now Dillard's -- one of the mall's largest anchor stores -- will close its doors in August.
Myshayla Herron, a frequent shopper at the mall -- and Dillard's -- said, "I live in Clarksville so I know a lot of times I do come down here to shop and if they keep taking away, it's like, 'Where am I going to go next?'"
Mason agreed, saying, "I'll have to travel another 20 to 30 minutes or more to even go shopping because there's really not a whole lot in this mall as it is."
Smaller stores have already vacated the mall, and Hickory Hollow Mall is advertising, trying to get businesses to take their place.
While Dillard's closing is disappointing to some, others point out the fact that when JC Penney's closed, the mall did attract a replacement. Discount clothing store chain Steve&Barrys now sits in its place.
