A Clarksville mother faces charges after police say she was driving while intoxicated with her two daughters in the car.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday near Lillie Belle and Lafayette roads, the Leaf Chronicle reported.
According to the newspaper, Leah Shipes told officers her car broke down while she was on her way home.
The officer reported smelling alcohol on the 33-year-old woman's breath. She was taken into police custody after she performed poorly on a field sobriety test.
At the time of the incident, police said Shipes had her two young daughters in the car with her.
She is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and driving under the influence.
She is jailed on a $60,000 bond.
Shipes has had two prior DUI offenses in 2009 and 2011.
