Thousands of convention professionals are meeting in Nashville Monday and their decisions will have a huge economic impact on the city.
The American Society of Association Executives is comprised of people in charge of booking conventions for all kinds of industries.
Signs hang all across downtown Nashville to welcome the association to the city.
“It’s my first time to Nashville,” said attendee Katherine Gilchrest of New Hampshire. “It’s fantastic.”
Soon, people belonging to ASAE may soon be bringing more than just themselves to Middle Tennessee.
CEO John Graham put it best while addressing his convention Monday: it’s simply where all association heads get together.
“We reach just about everything you do as individuals, from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to bed, and then some,” said Graham.
If ASAE members are swayed, they’ll bring more of these meetings to Tennessee, which means more people, more small businesses and more profit.
“The city has shown itself very well to a lot of people who will go home and say, ‘I need to have my meeting in Nashville,’" Graham added
The convention ends Tuesday night.
