Woman, 24, attacked, raped at Clarksville park

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Clarksville police are investigating after a woman was attacked and raped at a local park.

According to ClarksvilleNow.com, it happened early Tuesday morning at Dunbar Cave State Park.

The 24-year-old victim told police she was sitting in her vehicle around 2:20 a.m. when a man approached and asked her for a light.

As the woman reached for her lighter, she told police the man grabbed her by the hair and pulled her out of the vehicle.

ClarksvilleNow.com reported the suspect blindfolded the victim and dragged her down a trail where he forcibly raped her.

The victim said the suspect then pointed a weapon and told her to run or he would kill her.

The victim was eventually able to escape and call police. She was taken to Gateway Medical Center for treatment.

A suspect description was not released.

Police said the victim and suspect did not know each other.
