Water service restored to Nashville residents Wednesday afternoon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Water service was restored Wednesday afternoon to Nashville residents who lost is after what the city is calling a “catastrophic pipe failure.”

The major water main break happened exactly a week ago and affected the west and southwest portions of Davidson County, particularly the Green Hills neighborhood.

As of Tuesday night, crews finished analyzing the water after the pipe was fixed, running tests to check its quality, and were able to reconnect all but four customers overnight and into Wednesday morning.

“I realize that the past week has been a trying time for those impacted by the extended service interruption and I appreciate your patience and understanding,” Metro Water Services Director Scott Potter said in a release Wednesday.

Officials said they have attempted to make contact with the four homes without water service and are waiting to hear back to schedule a time for connection.

It wasn't immediately clear where those four residents reside.
