LEBANON, Tenn. -

A man wanted for allegedly chasing a woman with a butcher knife was arrested Monday night after his own dogs followed him into the woods and led police right to him.

Officers were called to the mobile home in the 14000 block of Lebanon Pike in Lebanon around 6:40 p.m.

Witnesses stated that alleged offender Richard Fowler ran into a nearby wooded area moments earlier.

Fowler’s dogs followed him into the woods and were barking, which assisted police with his quick apprehension.

Police said Fowler was unarmed and lying on the ground hiding under vegetation when he was taken into custody.

Fowler, 49, of Mt. Juliet, was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Wilson County jail on $10,000 bond.

He is due in court August 19.
