School bus, ambulance collide in Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Sumner County school bus collided with an ambulance early Tuesday morning in Millersville.

It happened around 6:45 a.m. on Highway 31W at Slaters Creek Road in Millersville.

According to police on the scene, a tractor trailer on Highway 31 stopped to let the bus turn out from Slater Creek Road.

As the bus turned onto the highway it collided with an ambulance.

There were 27 children on their way to Millersville Elementary School and their driver on board on the school bus. No one was injured.

They were moved to another bus and taken to school.

The ambulance was transferring a critical pediatric patient from Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

The child and everyone inside the ambulance were also not injured.

The patient and family members were transferred to another ambulance and continued on to Vanderbilt.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
