MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A 16-year-old Murfreesboro boy, upset with his parents because they took away his cell phone, is missing.

Murfreesboro police said Josh Elmore, who recently moved to Rutherford County with his family, had his phone and other privileges taken away for disciplinary purposes.

As a result, he threatened to kill himself or run away.

Josh left his home on his black mountain bike last Thursday morning.

Police said a neighbor may have seen him place his bike into the back of a red pickup truck and leave with the driver of the truck.

Josh was last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police at 615-893-1311, the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND or Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867).
