MIFFLINBURG, Pa. -

An Ohio teacher is continuing to fight for her life after a rock was thrown at her car, crashing through the windshield and striking the woman.

According to ABC News, Sharon Budd was traveling to New York City with friends and family when the incident happened on a Pennsylvania highway as they were driving under an overpass.

The rock, about eight inches thick, struck the 52-year-old woman in the head, causing her to lose an eye.

“They know there’s brain damage,” husband Randy Budd said. “To the extent, they don’t know.”

Authorities said the rock was thrown by a group of teenagers from the overpass.

The teens, two brothers, ages 17 and 18, face felony aggravated assault and conspiracy charges. Additional charges against two others teenagers are possible.
