Gas leak fixed after causing road closures in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A gas leak closed roadways in Nashville Sunday morning as crews worked to fix the pipes.

It happened just before 7 a.m. in the 3100 block of Lincoln Avenue, not far from Clarksville Pike.

Witnesses on the scene told News 2 gas shot around 20 to 30 feet into the air after the valve of a gas line popped off.

No one was injured.

HAZMAT and crews with Piedmont Natural Gas responded to the scene.

The problem was fixed just after 9 a.m. and roadways were opened to traffic.
