NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Just one day after grabbing the biggest commitment this off-season for Tennessee football, Vols head coach Butch Jones paid a visit to Music City.
Jones had a speaking engagement at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital less than 12 hours after 5-star recruit Khalil McKenzie verbally committed to UT.
Khalil’s father Reggie played linebacker at Tennessee in the early 1980s and Butch Jones stressed the importance of getting a legacy player to Knoxville.
“When we talk about being a Vol for life, it encompasses everything, to be able to bring back our former players and now their sons to be a part of something special. They understand the tradition, the pageantry, but also the expectations that's placed upon them when you sign to play football at the University of Tennessee. And so, it’s very, very special to our football family,” stated Jones.
Khalil McKenzie is set to join the Vols recruiting class in 2015.
