NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore along with two Russian cosmonauts will blast off for the ISS from Kazakhstan on September 25.

Wilmore grew up in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and graduated from Tennessee Tech with a Masters of Science in Aviation Systems in 1994.

He joined NASA in 2000 and flew on Space Shuttle Atlantis in 2009.

Wilmore and the two other members of his crew are scheduled to return to Earth in March 2015.
