Joe Biden makes stop in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Vice-President Joe Biden called the 28 governors gathered Friday in Nashville "the best hope we have" of getting past "personal, corrosive politics."

His nearly hour long speech at the National Governors Association at Omni Nashville touched on themes of infrastructure needs and training skilled workers.

Mr. Biden began by talking about the gridlock in Washington and how infrastructure needs never used to be bipartisan.

He said the governors "will lead us out of this mess."

During the speech, the Vice-President went around to the governors sitting at a table in front him, citing many for successful jobs or worker retraining programs in their states.

Talking to the governors gathering was not the Vice President's only Nashville stop.

He reportedly had lunch at Valentino's on West End before heading to his perch at the Omni.

The governors conference continues through Sunday.
