Local businessman finds success with chauffeur company

In business, it’s usually about beating the competition, but one local businessman is teaming up with his competitors to find success.

For years, healthcare was the industry that kept Carl Haley driven, then his life took a different turn.

“I actually had a chauffeur that was driving me, telling me about the Music City center and just the growth of Nashville, and everything that was going on, and kind of suggested, ‘Hey, Mr. Haley, I think you ought to get into this business,’” he told News 2.

Soon enough, Grand Avenue was born.

Haley decided he wanted to be a part of Nashville and the growth of the hospitality community.

“Today we’ve got about 70 employees in Grand Avenue,” he added.

He said what made his business grow is realizing that the company is part of a bigger picture.

“It’s to be part of the team collectively, to provide a service to the people coming to Nashville and to shine so they want to come back,” Haley explained.

He’s quick to give credit to the business community in Music City that works together to make things happen.

Haley said many people have helped Grand Avenue and he doesn’t think he’d be standing where he is without them.

And for large events in Nashville, competitors even partner with one another for the benefit of all.

“When we all work together, we can take care of the people coming to Nashville and do a really good job,” Haley said.

He added that the Music City Center has given him and other hospitality companies a big boost, for which he feels very blessed.
