NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The owners of a tackle shop in Hermitage were inside their store early Tuesday morning when they realized someone was trying to break in and called police.

It happened at the strip mall where Starkey’s Bait and Tackle shop is located on Bell Road around 4 a.m.

Police on scene told News 2 the burglars made it into the building through an air conditioning unit on the roof.

The burglars reportedly made it into five of the businesses before trying to get inside Starkey’s Bait and Tackle shop.

Four of the businesses were vacant.

Police said they did take something from the La Hacienda Restaurant, but didn’t elaborate on what.

This is the third break-in in recent weeks where the suspects made entry through roofs.
