NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An estimated 215,000 people descended on downtown Nashville Friday night for the annual 4th of July celebration, “Let Freedom Sing!”

It was a record number for the event.

News 2 spent the holiday scouring the crowd for the person who traveled the farthest to be at this year's fireworks show. People showed up from Ohio, Florida, and New Jersey, just to name a few.

"They say it's one of the best in the country," said Jeanine Malloy of Chicago.

Others said they came to see Billy Currington perform.

News 2 even spotted people who traveled from other countries to experience the show first hand.

"I love the experience," said Alida Aspelund of Sweden.

Nashville recently ranked second in the country for the best fireworks display.

New York City was No. 1.
