Police: Street racing led to 3-car crash that injured toddler

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police believe street racing may have led to a three-car crash that injured a toddler.

The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday night on Donelson Pike and Citation Drive.

Officials told News 2 two cars were racing when one of them took off. The other tried to pass two SUVs in the middle lane and lost control.

The vehicle hit both SUVs before running off the road, causing one of them to flip.

A two-year-old had lacerations from the crash, but the injuries are not life-threatening.

Donelson Pike was shut down following the accident.

No details were immediately available about possible charges.
