FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

An Indiana woman will be arraigned next month for allegedly stealing over $1,400 worth of jewelry from a Main Street shop in Franklin earlier this year.

According to police, Teresa Perkins, 66, concealed 30 pieces of jewelry during her brief visit to The Shoppes on Main in February.

Perkins was identified as a suspect after the store’s owner discovered the items missing and looked over store surveillance footage.

Police said Perkins used her credit card inside the shop for two items totaling $55.50.

She surrendered to police on June 25 and is charged with felony theft.

Perkins has since been released on a $5,000 bond and will be arraigned August 12.
