NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police’s Hermitage Precinct on James Kay Lane off Central Pike was evacuated Tuesday morning after a roll of coins containing a white powder was delivered to the county clerk's office located within the precinct.

Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron told News 2 no threat was made. The roll of coins was received with the money that is delivered daily to the clerk’s office.

The precinct was evacuated as a precaution.

The Nashville Fire Department and HAZMAT crews responded to the scene and determined the powder was harmless.

Business has resumed as normal.

Officers assigned to the Hermitage Precinct patrol the Hermitage and Priest Lake areas east of downtown Nashville.
