NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A Nashville man was arrested Monday night after police said he knowingly took his two-month-old son to a drug transaction.

According to the arrest warrant, an officer saw Daniel Cole conduct a hand-to-hand transaction and quickly put something in the trunk of his vehicle at the Fairfield Inn on Music City Drive near Opryland.

The officer reportedly followed Cole onto Briley Parkway and pulled him over for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone.

A K9 unit was called to the scene and indicated there was probable cause to search the vehicle, which led officers to find 133.9 grams of marijuana in the trunk wrapped in a trash bag.

Cole, 34, admitted to police that he had just gotten the drug from a friend and he sells it in small amounts to make a profit to fund his own use.

Cole’s infant son was in the vehicle and Cole admitted to taking him to the drug transaction, according to the affidavit.

He was charged with felony drug possession with the intent to sell and felony child abuse.

Cole was booked into the Metro jail on $20,000 bond.
