NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The laws that go into effect Tuesday fill more than 27 letter-size pages, even with just a few lines of detail.

Add it all up and you get 182 new laws.

Here's a few that might affect you.

Buying cold medication with pseudoephedrine?

In an effort to address what's been called an epidemic of meth problems in Tennessee, there are new limits.

They come out to be about 24 daylong tablets a month, or 120 a year.

Heading to a liquor store?

They are allowed to sell things other than liquor or wine, like beer cigarettes or snacks if the stores want.

Any wine in grocery stores won't happen until 2016 if petition drives put the issue on local ballots for the November elections.

Then there's a law passed about the electric chair that captured world-wide attention.

Lawmakers said "the chair" can be used for executions if proper drugs for lethal injection cannot be found, or they are ruled unconstitutional.

Tennessee is said to be the only state with such a law so far.

Daryl Holton's 2007 execution was the last one in Tennessee's electric chair.

He chose that means after being convicted of killing his children.

And for the tens of thousands of you with kids in public school, any new testing based on the new Common Core standards that are gradually going into effect won't happen for at least another year.
