David Chase domestic abuse case bound over to grand jury

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - David Chase, the high profile contractor involved in a domestic abuse case, appeared in court Thursday morning.

During the short court appearance, Chase’s case was bound over to a grand jury after he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Chase is accused of beating up his ex-girlfriend twice within the span of a few hours, the second time after a controversial release from jail instead of being held for a 12-hour “cooling-off” period.

“I am begging you, there are two sides of the story. Those of you who were in court got a pretty good idea there is definitely another side of the story here,” Chase’s attorney Rich McGee said.

He continued, “The rest of story is being prepared and the rest of the story will definitely be presented, this man is not guilty of these charges and we are going to be presenting the entire story when we get upstairs for criminal court.”

Chase is due back in court September 25 where he will challenge an order of protection brought by the alleged victim in the case.
