American Red Cross needs help during summer blood shortage

Posted:
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

The American Red Cross is asking for help from Middle Tennesseans to prevent a summer blood shortage.

Clarksville Now reported that the Red Cross must collect 15,000 blood donations daily to meet the needs of patients across the country.

During the summer, fewer blood donation appointments are typically made, so to encourage donations, the Red Cross is giving away free t-shirts to any individual who donates between June 30 and July 7.

There will be many upcoming blood donation events happening in Middle Tennessee.

For more information, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule an appointment.
