DAKOTA COUNTY, Minn. -

A man who broke into a home in Minnesota last week was identified and arrested after he forgot to log out of his Facebook page on the victim’s computer.

The break-in occurred at James Wood’s home located in Dakota County, just south of Minneapolis last Thursday.

According to ABC News, Wood arrived to his home and found the front door unlocked and an outer screen removed from a window.

Once inside he noticed some cash, a checkbook, credit cards, keys and a watch were all missing.

Wood also reported to police someone by the name “Nick Dub” used his computer to check their Facebook account, but failed to log out. Articles of clothing not belonging to Wood or his son were also found in the home.

Nick Wig was taken into custody later that morning after Wood was driving in the neighborhood and spotted a man that looked like the person in the Facebook photos left on his computer.

The homeowner quickly contacted police, who apprehended Wig. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing the watch that was taken from Wood’s home.

“This is a first case in Dakota County in which a suspected burglar left his Facebook profile on the computer screen of the victim’s computer,” Monica Jensen, spokesperson for the Dakota County Attorney’s Office told ABC News.

Wig has since admitted to breaking into Wood’s home.

He is charged with second degree burglary. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in jail and up to $20,000 fines.

Wig is scheduled to appear in court July 15.
