JEFFERSON CITY (WATE) - The Jefferson City father charged with aggravated assault, after shooting his son in the head Saturday morning, is out of jail on bond this morning.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff, Edward Bullard bonded out of the Jefferson County jail Sunday.

Jefferson County Sheriff G.W. "Bud" McCoig says charges could be upgraded to criminal homicide if his son passes away.

According to the sheriff's office, dispatch received a call Saturday morning around 6 a.m., about a reporting shooting at 375 E Dumplin Valley Road in Jefferson City.

Deputies said Bullard called and said he had shot his 45 year old son, who is not being named at this time.

Investigators said his son's injuries were serious enough to have him flown by LifeStar to UT Medical Center. There is no word on his condition this morning.
