JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

News channel 11 got took a look inside of the brand new Tupelo Honey Cafe. Saturday and Sunday Tupelo Honey held a friends and family event at their new location in downtown Johnson City.

Friends and family of Tupelo employees were invited to try a few items off of the menu and check out the refurbished train station.

Inside, visitors got a chance to see a replica of what the station looked like when it was operating.

General Manager Misse Caves told News Channel 11 it's taken a lot of work to get to this point and she hopes everyone enjoys the atmosphere and food.

"This one is very special its been in the works for over two years now just the whole concept of renovating a 100 year old train depot. And something that is so precious to Johnson City. Its been an adventure but a pleasure to everyone involved," said Caves.

Tupelo Honey is set to open it's doors Monday at 4:00 pm with a limited menu.
