Man injured after truck leaves Briley Pkwy hitting tree

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Two lanes of Briley Parkway were closed early Monday morning after a truck left the roadway and hit a tree injuring the driver.

It happened just before 6:30 a.m. at the Two Rivers Parkway exit in the southbound lanes.

The initial call for the crash reported that someone had died on the scene, but when crews arrived one person was alive with serious injuries.

Witnesses tried to help get the man out of the truck, but the door was stuck due to the way it impacted the tree.

Paramedics were able to get him out, and he was transported to a hospital.

He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No details were released about what caused the crash.

The two right lanes were blocked while crews investigated, but were reopened by 7 a.m.
