NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro police are looking for a 31-year-old man who twice impersonated a police officer on Murfreesboro Pike in south Nashville.

The first incident occurred on June 3, when Charles Virgil Thompson II and his wife Sabrina pulled over a vehicle by using a flashing blue light in his car.

The pair stole the driver’s wallet and fled.

One day later, around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, police said Thompson approached a driver who had stopped to drop off a passenger near Spence Lane.

Thompson asked for the driver’s license and ATM card. The driver complied and Thompson took off.

Police said Thompson tried to use the ATM card a short time later but it was declined.

Thompson, who has previous convictions for robbery, theft, unlawful gun possession and drug possession, now faces charges of criminal impersonation, false imprisonment and theft.

He could be driving a white sedan, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or Lincoln Town Car.

Sabrina Thompson is wanted for criminal impersonation of a police officer, false imprisonment and theft.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
