NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Country music stars were at Greet Stadium Saturday morning for the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game.

This was the 24th year for the event.

Team Grand Ole Opry was back for another year while this was the first game for Team iHeartRadio.

Both teams had country music stars on the field, including Sara Evans, Scotty McCreery and Florida Georgia Line.

Celebrities told News 2 they were taking Saturday’s game seriously.

“I’ll be the one who makes us lose and I’ll be the one who’s devastated for the whole rest of my life. So, I don’t know, but I hope we win though,” said Jamie Lynn Spears.

Team Opry, which was Spears’ team, won the game 13-11.

According to the Web site for the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game, 100% of event net profits will benefit City of Hope.

Over the years, the softball game has raised more than $2 million for the organization.

City of Hope funds research for life-threatening illnesses like cancer and diabetes.
