NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident early Monday morning in Hermitage that shut down a road.

It happened on the 700 block of Tulip Grove Road around 4:30 a.m.

The road was closed just over an hour from Brookside Wood Boulevard to Leesa Ann Lane.

A tow truck was on scene at 5:15 a.m. and removed a red Ford Mustang while crews cleaned up debris and liquid on the road.

A man driving the Ford Mustang told News 2 on the scene he’s from Chattanooga and unfamiliar with the area.

He said he was driving on Scotts Creek Trail and didn’t see the stop sign at the intersection of Tulip Grove Road and hit a Chevrolet Impala.

The driver of the Impala was transported to TriStar Summit Medical Center. There is no word on his condition.
