Three young adults were arrested last Thursday during an investigation into the shipment of prescription pills from California to Nashville.
Metro police said they seized thousands of doses of the common depressant called Xanax after the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Brooksmill Circle.
A parcel of 5,000 Xanax pills was delivered to the home, which belonged to 20-year-old Markuite Matthews, shortly prior to the arrival of authorities.
Two other men, 19-year-old Andrevious Rayner and 22-year-old Demarcus Blue, were at the home with Matthews.
According to a release, all three denied ownership of the 5,000 pills, but authorities say they witnessed Matthews opening the package on her balcony.
All three were arrested and charged with possession of Xanax for resale. Each posted their $15,000 bonds shortly after.
Police added they had already intercepted 16,000 pills prior to the arrests.
A person in California was also taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the shipments to Nashville.
