NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was charged with arson Saturday after an east Nashville home caught fire for the second time in a month.

According to an arrest warrant, Brandon Hulan, 28, was taken into custody after he returned to the home in the 1200 block of Kirkland Avenue.

Witnesses told officers they saw Hulan walking down the street and approaching the back of the home before the fire was discovered.

Neighbors called 911 at 3:51 p.m. when they saw smoke coming from the house, which was vacant.

When firefighters arrived they found heavy flames coming from the home and the back door was reportedly open.

One was occupied by an adult and three children. The other was also vacant.

When Hulan returned to the scene, he was seen with black markings on his hands that appeared to be soot stains, according to the arrest warrant.

He was charged with two counts of arson and one count of aggravated arson.
