MT. JULIET, Tenn. -

Mt. Juliet police have found a teen that ran away from home last week.

Sixteen-year-old Travis “Vincent” Walter was located at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night on Hollywood Drive in Old Hickory.

Authorities said they received several tips after releasing the story on social media, which led them to the teen.

“Our department is so thankful for the many tips that came in to our emergency communications center, and we are thankful that Vincent was located so quickly,” stated Police Lieutenant Tyler Chandler. “The power of a community is much stronger when it’s organized, and social media helps us build that strength through quick communication.”

Walter ran away from home on Thursday, May 22 and did not show up for juvenile court on May 27.

Police believe he was staying in Nashville and may have had plans to leave the state.

Authorities said Walter was not in immediate danger; however, he did not have his required medication with him.
