Climber stuck on ledge at 13,000 feet rescued

COLORADO (AP) -

A 19-year-old man who was trapped on an icy ledge 13,000 feet above ground has been rescued.

According to ABC News, Samuel Frappier was pulled to safety Wednesday evening.

A team of 28 rescuers used helicopters to pull him from the edge of Longs Peak in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Frappier was trying to descend from a summit of the mountain when he became stuck Tuesday afternoon.

A park spokesman said Frappier was an inexperienced climber and was only wearing cotton clothes.

Frappier was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No details were immediately available about his condition.
