Franklin traffic stop leads to meth bust

A routine traffic stop in Franklin led to a drug arrest.

It happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday night on Interstate 65 North near Murfreesboro Road.

An officer pulled over 40-year-old James Tucker because his tail light was out.

During the traffic stop, the officer found methamphetamine, several pseudoephedrine pills, a grinder, measuring cup, coffee filters and other items used to make methamphetamine.

Tucker was also driving on a revoked license.

Narcotics detectives and the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force clean-up crew responded to the scene, but did not find any dangerous chemicals.

Tucker was taken into custody on $15,000 bond. He has been charged with promotion of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II drug and driving on a revoked license.

His companion, 35-year-old Sandi Jett, was charged with promotion of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II drug and schedule VI drug. She is free on $16,000 bond.

Both Tucker and Jett are scheduled to appear in court June 5 at 1:00 p.m.
