NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man has been charged with aggravated assault, in a possible case of road rage, after a woman says he rammed his car into hers eight different times in south Nashville on Sunday.

According to an affidavit, Humberto Reyes-Valadez was driving in front of the woman on Linbar Drive when he slowed down, moved over and got behind the victim.

Valadez, 23, reportedly started following the woman extremely close.

She decided to turn around and made a U-turn to elude Valadez, but he followed her and rear-ended her, according to the police report.

The victim drove up on a curb to escape the assault, but followed Valadez when he drove away.

The woman reportedly saw Valadez stop at a gas station in the 5000 block of Linbar Drive and contacted police.

Once on scene, police said he wouldn’t tell them what happened, smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.

He allegedly tried to flee, but police were able to take him into custody.

He’s charged with public intoxication and evading arrest, which are both misdemeanors.

The aggravated assault charge is a felony.

Valadez’s bond was set at $16,000 and he is scheduled to be in court Thursday.
