Metro police search for 2nd suspect in convenience store beating

Metro police are searching for the second person involved in a beating at a Z Mart on Dickerson Pike.

Detectives have already arrested 28-year-old William Massey and charged him with aggravated assault. He is free in lieu of $7,500 bond.

Authorities said Massey exchanged words with the victim early Sunday morning. He then went outside and returned with another man.

Both men reportedly punched the victim in the head, knocking him unconscious and leaving behind a severe laceration on his face.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 20’s.

He wore his hair in braided rows and was about five feet, nine inches tall.

He and Massey left the scene in a gold Chevrolet Avalanche.
