Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man and several other superheroes lined up to honor a five-year-old Indiana boy who died recently of brain cancer.
Brayden Denton had been fighting the cancer since his diagnosis in April of 2013, ABC News reports.
“He stopped completely walking. Then we got through that hurdle,” said his mother, Staci Denton. “Then he started not being able to eat or drink.”
She explained that during every treatment at the hospital, her little boy “always had some superhero with him.”
A superhero himself, the five-year-old died on May 8.
To honor Brayden’s fighting spirit and bravery, Denton planned a fitting funeral.
“I felt like I was honoring him in a way that if he was looking down on us he would be happy,” she explained.
Each pallbearer, some family members of Brayden’s, dressed as a different superhero.
Among then was an uncle dressed as Thor and second cousin as Ironman.
Denton said Brayden has been a huge fan of superheroes, Spiderman most of all, since he was three years old.
She told ABC he’s seen Spiderman on Broadway and even got to meet the superhero in Chicago.
