Kortae’s father, Julius Flenoy, was moved by how many people his son touched in his short life.

“It means the world to me to know that he was a good kid, a good young man that wanted to have a lot of people around him, that wanted to love him,” said Flenoy.

Kortae’s older brother, Isaiah, graduates from high school next week. He’ll be missed at the graduation.

“He was the one person I really wanted to be there,” Isaiah said. “But I know he’s still going to be there, through my heart and everyone else’s.”

Funeral arrangements for Kortae Hughes are still pending.
