MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Murfreesboro police are looking for the man who claimed to be a police officer before shooting through an apartment door.

According to the Daily News Journal, the incident occurred at University Gables Apartments on South Rutherford Boulevard near the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

The victim said the man banged on her front door and yelled, “Rutherford County Police, open the door!”

A witness also reported seeing the suspect at the door.

He is described as a black male, around six feet tall with a skinny build, wearing a gray tank top with camouflage shorts.

He was driving a late 1990’s model green car.

Anyone with information on the crime is encouraged to call Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP.
