BEIJING, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At this week's OpenStack Summit in Atlanta, Jonathan Bryce, Executive Director of the OpenStack Foundation, announced the launch of the OpenStack Marketplace. The OpenStack Marketplace aims to assist organizations wanting to use OpenStack software to easily find OpenStack products and services that best meet their business requirements.
"How to get started with OpenStack is one of the most common questions we receive," said Mark Collier, COO of the OpenStack Foundation. "The answer is that there are many ways to consume OpenStack, and the Marketplace is intended to show users the right paths to adoption for them, and community participants like Pactera are helping us make that happen."
Pactera is among a group of leading consultancies and integrators participating in the launch of the Marketplace and is an existing corporate sponsor of the OpenStack Foundation. With several years' experience working with OpenStack software, Pactera has developed an Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud management platform based on OpenStack known as HSCloudTM, which runs several public and private clouds in China.
Ben Hooper, Pactera's Associate VP of Cloud, stated, "We are proud and delighted to be involved in the OpenStack community. As a system integrator, we strongly believe in open cloud architectures that enable compatibility between clouds and respect the OpenStack Foundation's commitment to interoperability."
In addition to OpenStack consultancy and integration services, Pactera offers cloud readiness assessments and application migration services to assist organizations in defining their cloud roadmap and moving their applications to cloud to take advantage of the scale, agility, and cost efficiency of cloud services.
