NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Homeless man saved the day for a south Nashville church early Friday morning.

Eric Ledbetter called authorities after witnessing a man break a back window at the Woodland Hills Church of Christ on Old Hickory Boulevard.

An officer arrived and tackled the suspect, John Quinton, as he tried to get away. He reportedly fell into the baptismal pool at one point.

Police also arrested a woman, Chelsea Ladd, who was parked in a getaway car in front of the church.

There’s no word on what the suspect tried to steal.

Ledbetter told News 2 he’s been homeless for several years and used to attend the church where he witnessed the break-in.

Quinton, 44, is charged with vandalism and two counts of burglary. He was booked into the Metro jail on $45,000 bond.
