Marshall County woman crashes vehicle 3 times with child inside

LEWISBURG, Tenn. -

A mother and her child were seriously injured after she crashed her vehicle three times in Marshall County Thursday.

The first accident happened 8:30 a.m. on Pyles Road in Chapel Hill. Authorities told News 2 that 27-year-old Leotie Kuhns was driving with her 3-year-old daughter, Ava, in the car when she crashed her vehicle and fled the scene.

The second crash occurred on Verona Caney Road near Milltown Road in the Rock Creek community at 10:24 a.m. Again, Kuhns left the scene.

After officials responded to the first two accidents, they were told that a third crash happened around Noon on Verona Caney Road near Finley Road in Lewisburg.

Kuhns' vehicle had gone off the road and down a 100-foot embankment. She and her daughter were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by LifeFlight.

Authorities told News 2 they believe Kuhns may have been impaired. The investigations into the crashes are ongoing.
