MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. -

The Maury County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who broke into 13 homes in a span of three days looking for pain meds.

The crimes occurred at random in Maury County and Spring Hill homes from Friday of last week to Sunday.

Officials believe the man is so addicted to drugs that he will kick in almost any door to get his fix.

To illustrate the extent of the problem, Maury County detectives made a county map with a push pin at every burglary.

“They are just picking them at random. They are breaking in, leaving items there and we’ve had several homes with medication taken,” said Detective Terry Dial.

One of the victims was an 89-year-old woman with dementia. She was not hurt when the thief kicked his way in.

Another victim, a resident of Spring Hill, saw the suspect running out of his neighbor’s house. Authorities said he then chased the thief at a high rate of speed, but he got away.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years old. He was driving a black two-door Honda, possibly a 2004 model with Tennessee Titans license tags.

Anyone with information on the crimes should call the Maury County Sheriff’s Office at (931) 380-5733.
