NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A Nashville mother was arrested Thursday after drugs were found hidden in her diaper bag.

According to a police report, Jessica Hall was hiding marijuana and cocaine in the bag for her boyfriend, Kevin Smart, a felon wanted in Dickson County.

Officers made the discovery after arresting Smart outside Hall’s home in the Summerwind Apartments on Bell Road.

The backpack was in Hall’s minivan. Officers became suspicious when she refused to leave the bag in the van for them to search.

“There [are] drugs in there,” she told the officers, adding, “I didn’t want [my boyfriend] to get in anymore trouble. He just does it to support his kids.”

In addition to marijuana and cocaine, a digital scale and a box of sandwich bags were found in the bag.

More marijuana and a handgun were found in Hall’s apartment.

Hall, 29, was booked into Metro jail on drug and weapons charges. Her bond was set at $19,500 bond.

Smart, 28, was charged with several felony drug and weapons counts and booked into the Metro jail on $95,000 bond.

Hall’s infant child was present at the time of the couple’s arrest.
